Design In Europe
As a capstone to my design education I joined an industrial design study abroad group and spent nearly three weeks in Europe traveling to a variety of design studios, touring historical architecture, and meeting the faculty and students at several design schools. Our schedule included trips to PP Møbler, Fritz Hansen, LEGO, IKEA, Gaudî architecture, Elisava School of Design and Engineering, Athlon, V&A Museum, Seymourpowell, Clerkenwell Design Week, Native, and the London National Gallery to name a few stops.
I personally had an eyeopening experience seeing how design works on a global scale. I saw how important design is to the quality of life and the impact it can make when designers have a global perspective. A good story, user centered process, and innovative solution can make all the difference.
